Paladino Concrete Creations developed and executed a plan to replace a water main near Union and Requa Streets off Albany Post Road/U.S. Route 9 in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. The work included concrete pavement, asphalt, k-crete, cutting and capping the existing water main, removing the existing water main, installing a new water main, and replacing fire hydrants.
Throughout much of the project, Paladino Concrete Creations contended with the challenges of winter pavement and water main installation work, as well as timing the need to shut off the water supply as need to properly install the water main. The Village of Briarcliff Manor hired Paladino Concrete Creations to remove and replace fire hydrants and an outdated water main, and freezing temperatures limited the times at which work with water-bearing structures was feasible. Occasional inclement weather also made the work more challenging, but despite the climate obstacles, Paladino Concrete Creations completed the project by deadline and within budget, ensuring water access and flood-proofing for residents near two major Briarcliff Manor intersections.
